Vacation Virtues – A Stress-Free Guide To Planning Your Trip

March 5, 2018 Laura

Vacations are a time of relaxation and shouldn’t be brought down by constant stressing. With that said, as we all know, keeping your cool can be difficult. That’s why we’ve put together a guide to help you plan a stress-free holiday.

Pick a place

Picking the perfect holiday destination can be very difficult, especially if traveling with a family. Doing research on what countries are like before buying your ticket can save you panic and drama. This research can also help choose the safest place to travel, as some countries and areas will be more dangerous for tourists than others.

Research

Sometimes, when travelling overseas, we can make a fool of ourselves because we don’t know or understand a cultural norm of the country. Therefore, doing a little research before your flight date can save you embarrassing yourself, or worse, insulting someone by accident. Finding things such as polite ways to ask for directions, what is considered an insult, or even just small phrases such as “thank you” or “I’m sorry” can save you from unnecessary drama later down the line.

Budget

Sometimes, it can feel as if the holiday of your dreams will never become a reality, mainly because we can’t afford it. However, that doesn’t have to be the case. Yes, you can save your money for a few years, but to provide an extra level of support to your travel, getting a travel loan might be a good idea.

With a travel loan, you can still save your money, but instead of spending all of it on tickets and accommodation, you can give yourself have some spending money so get gifts for your loved ones and visit some of the local attractions. With many top notch travel loan providers, such as Latitude Finance, getting a loan is easier than ever.

Holiday deals

Hotel deals, flight deals, restaurant deals; finding holiday activities or accommodation cheaply is no different than shopping for anything else. The key is to look around and find the best price. By far the most important tip is to plan in advance – cheap fares rarely show up at the last minute so planning earlier can not only save you money and stress, you’ll get more choice if you plan early. The second-most important is to keep an eye out for any new sales or deals.

Organisation apps

After booking your flight, hotel, and your rental car, you’ll have a heap of confirmation numbers, reservation dates, receipts and other bits of info floating around your email inbox. Keeping organised with apps, such as TripIt, can really minimize stress as you aren’t struggling, as you don’t have to search through your inbox for that information again — it’s all just a few taps away on your phone. This can give you all the information you need about your reservations, notify you if anything changes, and also sync with your calendar so you always have your flight info on hand.

Pack appropriately

As travel day inches closer, you will want to pack all your luggage ahead of time. The further ahead you begin preparing, the less likely you are to forget something. Start packing and planning what to pack a week or two ahead of time, and as more things come to mind, you can just place it on top for the suitcase. That way, they aren’t all packed away in case you need something but they’re all in one place you won’t forget anything.

When it comes to packing, the goal for you to be successful is to pack it into as small a suitcase as possible. This means rolling your clothes instead of folding them, as well as putting in the heaviest clothes first. Put your toiletries bag on the top so you can access it quickly if needed (or if security needs to screen it). Make sure you’ve got travel-sized versions of everything too.

Travelling creates memories which last a life time, following these tips means these memories will be stress free and filled with happiness.
