The Pizza Dough Recipe Every Busy Mom Needs

Most parents plan out dinner ahead of time, but busy parents know that life with kids doesn’t always go to plan. That roast you’ve been cooking for hours can land on the floor as you go to take it out of the oven, or that new mandarin chicken recipe you’re trying out could come out less than palatable. Emergencies call for having quick meal alternatives on hand, which is why every parent has to try this bread machine pizza dough recipe. After you try it once you’ll want to keep enough pizza dough on hand to toss up a couple of homemade pizzas on the fly. Remember, kids love pizza so if you have pizza dough around you can make them fast meals that are also nutritionally balanced.

How to Make Pizza Dough in a Bread Machine

When pizza dough is made by hand, you’ve got to do a lot of kneading. Kneading is what gently combine the ingredients but also enables pizza dough to still rise when baked in the oven. Because a lot of work goes into making pizza dough by hand, parents either order up delivery pizza, make pizza out of a kit, or use alternative recipes for pizza baked on pizza bread or English muffins. To make pizza dough in a bread machines all you do is add the ingredients to the machine and let it do all the work.

Freezing Pizza Dough for Quick Meals

The thing about pizza dough is that it can be partitioned and then frozen so that you can make a fast meal for your family whenever. Pizza dough also thaws out quick, so as long as you have your dough portioned out appropriately you can prepare all of the fresh vegetable toppings for your pizza in the time it takes for the dough to get soft. Make your pizza square shaped and prepare a homestyle pizza right on top of a cookie sheet. If you have traditional circular pizza pans, you can make thin crust or Sicilian style pizza for dinner once a week.

How Pizza Dough Actually Improves Productivity

A lot of working parents have to fight with their kids over what they’re going to eat for dinner every night. Some kids don’t like leftovers, which eliminates the idea of cooking big batches of food for some families. Then there are kids that constantly change their minds about what to eat, causing parents to sometimes abandon their meal plans just as they’re getting started. Ordering takeout might seem fast and cheap, but you have to consider how long it takes to be delivered as well as how much money it does to do so two or three times a week.

Keep frozen pizza dough in the freezer and dinner will never cause a fight in your household. If your children are old enough they can do a lot of the meal preparation on their own and with minimal clean up. Just be around to help pre-heat the oven, put the pizza in, take it out once it’s done and then serve.
