Living here in Mokena, Il we always need to be prepared when it comes to the winter time because temperatures can get extremely cold. In fact you may have read in the last couple of weeks about the extreme temperatures which Chicago and the rest of Illinois has been facing, at times reaching a worrying -41 degrees Celsius. As you can imagine we need to make sure that we are perfectly prepared and that is why I use the team at Integrity Heating and Cooling to ensure that my boiler is fully functioning. We may be on the way out of winter now but this is the perfect time to check the health of your boiler, instead of leaving it until next winter, and here is why.
Breakdown
Your boiler may be working pretty well at the moment but that is not to say that this will continue and usually it is after the winter that parts will begin to show wear and breakdown. If you get a health check on your boiler once the winter is finished, the experts will be able to tell you whether or not you need to have parts replaced. In doing this you can get ahead of the curve and make sure that any potential breakdowns are fixed before this occurs. There is little worse than going to switch the boiler on when the cold weather hits and realizing that there is a problem.
Chemicals
Boilers which aren’t working to the best of their ability or boilers which are broken can be very damaging to your health. In some cases the boiler can pump out noxious gasses into your home which can make you feel very ill. In other cases there may be an issue with the vent and that means that you could have dry air being pumped around the home, which can help diseases and viruses to travel through the air. In some cases you may not even be aware of the fact that this is happening which is why it will be important to have your boiler checked out and make sure that all is well.
Money
Your boiler may also be costing you more money than it should if it is not performing in an efficient way. To put it in layman’s terms, an efficient boiler which has been on all day may cost you $7 in energy usage, if it is not in good health however then it could cost you $12, yet its output will be the same as the efficient boiler. This means that you could literally be spending money on nothing, and not receiving the benefit of the money that you have spent. The best course of action is to get your boiler checked out, make sure that you replace any parts that are required and, if needed, get your boiler replaced entirely to make sure that it is efficient and doing the best job for your home.
