So you’ve decided to take a big step and give your house the makeover it deserves! One of the main things that you may have considered giving a facelift is the floor. But new flooring doesn’t come cheap, especially if you’re looking for something like real wood. However there are alternatives out there, and although they may not be made from solid wood, they certainly look the part. We’ve found the perfect floor for anyone who may be working towards a budget but still want a quality floor, allow us to introduce you to Quick-step laminate flooring and the many reasons why we love it so much..
Endurance
As with most types of laminate, Quick-Step is made up of four layers. The first layer is called the balancing board, this initial base is what helps prevent the board from bowing. The second layer is known as the core, this is what gives the floor stability and protects it from any moisture seeping through. The third layer is the image, this is how the laminate is able to imitate other materials, all thanks to a cleverly printed photographic image. Finally a transparent, wear-resistant overlay is placed on top, this is what protects the floor from fading and any damage. Fun fact: Quick-step, unlike other laminate floors can be used with underfloor heating!
The durability of this floor is also present in many of its other features, for example it is waterproof. So unlike original wood, spillages are no big deal, as long as they’re cleaned as soon as they occur the floor will look as fresh as the day it was installed. Because of this and its resistance to scratches, this floor is definitely family friendly and can be installed in rooms that experience high traffic. If properly installed and maintained correctly, Quick-Step laminate floors can last for up to 25 years – not bad for a bit of laminate eh?
Easy to install
This is probably the main difference between Quick-Step and regular laminate floors. Quick-Step belongs to a famous Belgian floor brand called Unilin, now you’re probably wondering why we’re telling you this, but Unilin patented a system to install laminate floor called “Uniclic”. This system allows planks to click together, meaning installation is much easier. What this means is that as easy as the planks are installed they can also be removed, this allows you to easily replace a plank in the very rare case it gets damaged. Due to Quick-Step being very easy to install, there’s no need to worry about spending money on a professional fitter, or even being an avid DIY fan yourself. It really is that simple!
Lovely aesthetics
There’s no real difference between Quick-Step or regular laminate floors, both are able to perfectly imitate other surfaces. However Quick-Step do pride themselves on their vast availability in even more styles than other laminate brands. Quick-step replicates wood and stone amazingly well. In wood, it can mimic different types such as oak, walnut or even pine. If you prefer stone, you will certainly be impressed by how well it can replicate effects like ceramic-tiles. For all of this, Quick-Step results in a quite versatile floor. You will be able to use this floor for the living room as well as in the kitchen, and it’s guaranteed to fit beautifully wherever you place it. As well as styles you can find the floor in different colours and shades, which means you can rest assured knowing it will adapt well to whichever room you place it in.
We stand by the fact that this is the perfect floor for anyone who is looking for quality while on a budget. Let us know if you love it too!
